I had barely enough of the blue patterned glass to make this piece so I had to angle the glass to make the long curved cuts. The piece of glass that was left was in the shape of a long, elegant wave! I cut some clear glass and used some of the left-over cobalt blue glass to frame this inspiring piece. More to follow!
The Oakpark Community Art Show was a lot of fun - a chance to catch up with the ladies and to hang out with artists for the weekend - always fun. As a bonus, I sold a few pieces! The show was followed quickly by the arrival of a house guest who stayed for two weeks. i have now managed to get back into my workshop and have begun working on a series of small pieces for Galerie Old Chelsea and il Primo Restaurant. First off the table was a commission - each year, this client buys three similar pieces, two for her long-term friends and the third for herself. In honour of this amazing friendship, this year I created a triptych. Each of the three pieces stands alone and is designed to sit in a small stand. The concept is that each of the friends will think of the others when they see their piece.
