Four weeks since the plate and screws were inserted to hold the bones together in my arm and I am celebrating some small successes. I am actually using both hands to write this text. Yesterday and today, I was able to use my weak hand to hold veggies in place on the board while I chopped them myself for the salad. Today I ventured into my workshop and learned that I can carefully place foil around the outside of a small piece of glass and can do a weak job of burnishing it, but I am a long way from having the strength and flexibility to hold even a small piece of glass in place while I cut it.....patience.

Plan A for for January and February was to fill the Galerie windows with her 'Hearts for Windows - For So Many Reasons'. Instead my covid project has become recovery from a complicated fracture of the humerus near the shoulder on January 9. While I have lots of movement in the wrist and fingers, restoring movement to the arm and shoulder will take more time. i do have four hearts which were completed before the fall knocked me out of commission and I am looking forward to the day her physiotherapist gives her permission to work on small pieces.
