Thank you to those who joined us to celebrate the vernissage yesterday afternoon! It was fun to reconnect with friends and to meet new people. If you were away for the weekend and missed the vernissage, I will be at Galerie Old Chelsea again on Sunday, May 24. The Galerie is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sundays from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Drop in any time!

Just how much packing material does it take to move my glass to the Galerie Old Chelsea for the show? Lots! Yes, there are three pillows, a wooden crate, bubble packaging and loads of bubble wrap as well as one wooden board. Happily, all pieces were safely transported and are now in place. I could not begin to count how many trips I made up and down the stairs and up and down the ladder. I am tired but very pleased with the results. Photos Sunday.
I changed my Saturday schedule so I could spend over three hours framing, touching up the solder, adding patina to darken the solder lines, and cleaning this piece.
Yahoo - the truck arrived at the glass shop Wednesday while I was at the Gallery. First thing Thursday morning I picked up the glass and came home for a marathon session to finish cutting, grinding and foiling the panel. This morning was
Yoikes! When life gives you lemons ...the truck did not deliver my glass to the shop last week so I have had a two-day marathon session foiling most of the pieces. My fingers are now crossed that the truck that comes THIS week will have my glass on it!
It was not part of the original plan, but this panel has a lot of tiny, little pieces...many smaller than a dime! These are actually more work than some of the bigger pieces. There are still a couple of areas to be cut so I am sure there will be more tiny, little pieces. |
