How many projects can I have on the table at the same time? Hmmm...
- One experiment in etching a simple design onto a large, clear bevel. Moderate success with the first stage. Now I need to figure out how much more detail to add and whether or not to integrate colour (read on).
- Two experiments in painting on glass with lead-free acrylics. My heart wants to use traditional stained glass methods and paints, however, they require special handling and wearing a face mask to protect my lungs. This creates significant risks for my birds who are frequent visitors to my workshop. The lead-free acrylics need to dry for 24 hours and then bake in my oven at home.
- One experiment in multi-dimensional design to push the envelope on the creation of structures as opposed to panels.
- One commission has been designed. The next step is to review the glass selections with the client, also tied to the experiments in painting on glass.
- Options are also floating through my head for the use of a small number of camera lenses which I recently acquired. I think they will really add something different to my panels!
I think I need more hours in my days!

Picture
I have put this frame on the table a number of times and tried to combine it with a number of colours and shapes, none of which worked for me. While tidying my workshop last week after finishing a number of projects, I realized that I had a virtual treasure trove of small pieces of clear textures, each one evoking a memory of previous projects.   This is the result! These clear textures capture and reflect background colours and light and the character of the individual pieces emerges as you move from left to right.  This means the piece can sit in a window and bring the outside in by reflecting colours and light or it can sit proudly on a table or shelf where it will capture and reflect light and colour from any available source. Look for it to appear at the Galérie Old Chelsea in the near future.

Two more pieces added to my collection. Serenity is now hanging at the Galérie Old Chelsea. Sunburst was just finished today. This is a light-hearted piece contains wine glass bases, a chandelier crystal, the cover of a heart-shaped glass dish, two brass hearts, and some re-fired beads, all in a metal stand which means it can be placed anywhere in the room.
