I just set up the windows at il Primo Restaurant on Preston Street here in Ottawa. Stop by and enjoy an excellent meal prepared 100% on-site using fresh ingredients and cooked to your taste. This will give you lots of time to enjoy my glass! | |

This has been a very busy few weeks! I took advantage of two days in the Galerie on Thursday and today to get a head start on changing the glass in my windows. Today's snow really set the mood! The Christmas Market at Galerie Old Chelsea will be set up this Friday and will continue until the end of December. We will be open six days a week (Tuesdays to Sundays) from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for your convenience. Stop by if you are in the neighbourhood!
I have a new approach to my trees! I realized that I had a sizeable stock of heritage glass that fell into the category of 'kiln surprises'. In some cases, this meant that one or more edges of the piece buckled or did not flatten consistently in the kiln so they were not suitable for use in my panels or constructions in stands. I started with small pieces and realized that, with brute force and persistence, I could (most the time) successfully break larger and larger pieces. The small pieces on the left sold quickly and a recent community art show and the two on the right will be featured at the Galerie Old Chelsea Christmas Market starting on November 24. I am excited to get back to my workshop tomorrow to add more trees to my collection!
