![]() This little piece is 8 x 11 inches and will be called 'Gotta Earn Your Wings'. The angel was given to me by my glass artist friend from Toronto because she had lost her wings in production. The remaining pink bits of wings on the back were ground down to allow the eye to focus on her elegant lines. With less than one square foot of the white fractured streamer, careful cutting was required to have as much pink and as little green as possible. My apologies for the lack of sun to really show this piece well but we are in our second consecutive month of exceptional rainfall. ..

This bright piece, called Tequila Sunrise, is now hanging at il Primo Restaurant. This offers a great chance to spend some time enjoying my glass over a great meal. The second image is the piece that is on my table today - it is a commission for a privacy screen. This will allow maximum sunlight into their bathroom while allowing absolute privacy.
Tomorrow morning, I will be installing some of my glass in the windows at il Primo Restaurant at 371 Preston Street here in Ottawa. Here are pictures of two brand new pieces that will be included in that show: Lingering Thoughts of Blue, and A Rose By Any Other Name. More photos to follow tomorrow, after the installation.
These two pieces sold recently at the Galerie. The one with the pale aqua was made with the two sides of a Bombay Sapphire gin bottle and was called 'Make Mine A Double'. The bottle was not flat so it was very difficult to photograph. I really liked the way the inconsistent thickness of the glass distorted the image of what was outside. The one with the crystal was from my Dream Series and was called 'Pause'. I am now working on updating images for my newest pieces...My hope is to get them posted tomorrow evening. |
