Rainy days and Mondays ..... a great time to be back in my workshop after a few weeks (maybe two months) distracted by office work! I have only three weeks until my Treasure Hunt show is hung at Galerie Old Chelsea and I am getting excited. There are a lot of bureaucratic tasks still to do but I have a couple of ideas in my head for additional pieces for the show. The one on my table today is going to be a garden scene. At Janet's suggestion, I have added a calla lily (thank you Heather for the photo of the exotic variegated one as an added inspiration) and have cut out a second tulip. The second tulip may end up in the reject pile (to the right, outside the frame) as it is not bright enough and makes for too much pink. The amazing, dynamic glass I wanted for that tulip refused to be cut into a tulip shape and is now very exotic scrap.
I am considering two different shades of blue or an orange. Thoughts?
I am also trying to decide whether to include the butterfly (made with re-fired glass globs) or the dragon fly. Any preferences?
