I wanted to share this photo of the four ornaments now hanging in my bathroom window. They were originally a set of four little Jacobite bowls that I purchased in an antique shop in Economy, Nova Scotia in September. It may have been the original design of the bowls that created a weakness. Close to the outer edge of each piece was a small inset. As I soldered the first piece it cracked, just as I had made it almost all the way around. I tried soldering only half way around the circles which seemed successful. Then the pieces cracked, one after another, as I tried to make the bead on the outer rim and add the hangar. The set of three larger bowls that looked identical but were a little larger cooperated fully and are brightening up a window at il Primo Restaurant on Preston Street. The pieces in this photo are still beautiful and can hang out at my place for as long as the cracks remain just cracks.
