Chandeliers, crystal and glass were collected, treasured and passed from generation to generation by our grandmothers and mothers. Through generations of use, these treasured collections became worn and often incomplete. They may have spent some time gathering dust in the back of a cupboard and, one day, were sold at an estate sale or donated to a charity organization.
Techniques used to grant these beloved treasures a second life include cutting bases off wine glasses, fusing coasters or other small dishes in a kiln to flatten them, and then using standard stained glass methods to finish them. This series of Christmas decorations has been created to honour and respect the values and traditions of our grandmothers and mothers.
